Authentic and Spicy Instant Pot Butter Chicken (This is SO GOOD!)

2 tbsp butter

1 giant onion, finely diced

2 kilos boneless, skinless hen breasts, lower into bite-sized items

1 inch recent ginger, grated

three garlic cloves, minced

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garam masala

½ tsp floor turmeric

2 tbsp tomato paste

1 cup tomato puree

½ cup water

½ cup coconut cream or coconut milk or heavy cream plus additional for adornment

¼ cup chopped recent cilantro or parsley (kind of to style)

salt, black pepper to style


  1. Press the SAUTE button on the Instant pot and let stand till display screen reads “HOT”.
  2. Add the butter.
  3. Add the onion and prepare dinner for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the hen and prepare dinner, stirring steadily, till not pink.
  5. Add the garlic and recent ginger and prepare dinner for 30 seconds.
  6. Press the CANCEL button.
  7. Add the chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, tomato paste, tomato puree and water and combine to mix.
  8. Close and seal the Instant pot.
  9. Turn the venting knob to SEALING.
  10. Press PRESSURE COOK button and verify to verify the strain stage exhibits as “High” on the show.
  11. Adjust the timer to five minutes.
  12. When completed cooking, let the strain come down naturally for 10 minutes, then fast launch the remainder of the strain.
  13. Open the lid.
  14. Press the SAUTE button on the Instant pot.
  15. Add the coconut cream and stir to mix.
  16. Cook, stirring steadily, till the sauce has thickened to your liking.
  17. Press the CANCEL button.
  18. Season with salt and black pepper to style.
  19. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro or parsley and serve with rice.
